Tishman Construction, in a joint venture, served as Construction Manager to construct Building 66, which houses approximately 1,100 FDA employees. A dynamic six-story atrium serves as the building’s focal point — a vital, animated space that serves as an interior crossroads for staff. Conference facilities, a lobby and an employee café comprise the front of the atrium’s ground floor. The positioning and design of the stairwells and sky bridges connecting each level, promote communication among departments by enhancing both accessibility and circulation between floors.
Interior materials, selected for durability, aesthetic strength and sustainability, integrate a palette of neutral tones with bursts of warm color to create an atmosphere that feels current, professional and engaging. This project was designed for LEED® Silver, but achieved LEED Gold certification.
