Tishman Construction served as Construction Manager for a multifaceted renovation of this historic hotel originally built in the 1890s. The scope of work included upgrades to many of the building's public spaces as well as the addition of a new elevator and HVAC system. The old steam service was replaced with a hot water system, and chilled water risers were relocated from the basement to the roof and horizontally redistributed.
Public spaces such as the first floor restaurant and lobby along with the corridors and lobbies on each floor were upgraded with new millwork, plastering, painting, and carpeting. Additionally, plumbing fixtures, ceramic tile, and stone counters were replaced. Since the hotel remained operational throughout the project, the work was carefully phased and coordinated in order to provide hotel patrons with a safe and hospitable environment.
